Introduction. The key factor in the study of sources on the research of archaeological sites is the maximum integrity and accessibility of a set of sources on the research carried out, both individual monuments and the monuments belonging to different eras. The purpose of the article is to describe the work on the creation of a set of sources on archaeological sites explored in the Republic of Kalmykia in 1929–2019. Results. The work on the creation of a set of sources is described: collections of archaeological finds originating from monuments studied on the territory of Kalmykia, but stored in museums in Russia (Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore, Saratov), the National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia named after N. N. Palmov (Elista), the State Historical Museum (Moscow), the Museum of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan) and collections of the reports on the work carried out stored in scientific archives (the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the RAS, the Institute of Archeology of the RAS and the Kalmyk Scientific Center of the RAS). As a result of the work carried out, a set of sources has been created on archaeological sites explored on the territory of the Republic of Kalmykia in 1929–2019. The data obtained will make it possible in the future to create comprehensive collections (scientific reports, publications and collections of archaeological finds), both for individual monuments and for a series of monuments belonging to different eras
