This article presents the results of a qualitative study using project-based learning (PjBL) to write scientific articles. The conceptual framework is based on neuropsychological underpinnings of motivation and self-determination. A thematic analysis of the interviews was conducted with participants as part of a focus group at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez. Different themes and patterns have been identified, including enhanced collaboration and teamwork, increased confidence and motivation, strengthened self-determination, improved self-organization and time management, enhanced adaptability, and effective strategies for overcoming writing blocks. Furthermore, the participants reported the benefits of this experience in fostering a supportive environment that enhanced their intrinsic motivation, autonomy, and sense of competence, leading to improved writing productivity and quality
