Museu das Remoções, direito à moradia e luta pelo território no Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Territorial disputes in urban centers have sparked conflicts and drawn the attentionof governments, social movements and the real estate market. This article focuses on the Evictions Museum and its history of struggles for the right to housing, while analyzing the repercussions of a written agreement between the city of Rio de Janeiro and the Vila Autódromo community. The study employs bibliographic research, documentary analysis of extrajudicial agreements and field diary records. The findings reveal how the commodification of territory can jeopardizethe right to housing and highlights the necessity of mediation mechanisms to protect social rights in conflict with the interests of real estate financial capital
