Hunting is a key theme in classical anthropological studies and in more recent approaches to human-nonhuman animal relationships. In this work we ethnographically explore the ethical, epistemic and material aspects involved in the speeches and hunting practices in Paso Centurión, a rural town in northeastern Uruguay, traditionally cattle-raising and indicated of interest for the conservation of biodiversity. Changes in land use driven by agribusiness, new global sensitivities regarding animal rights, and greening processes generated in the area, weave a series of complex relationships with local subsistence hunting practices. At this crossroads, dissimilar moralities, knowledge, forms of relationship and management of animals are confronted or articulated through pragmatic bridges that allow multiplicity
