This study is a contribution to the description and interpretation of learned compound words. It constitutes an observation and reasoning on their mode of training. The morphological aspect of learned words brings them closer to radical words that traditional grammar calls simple words. From a morphosyntactic point of view, these lexical units bring together two autonomous formants of Greek and/or Latin origin following different combinations. On a semantic level, this study explains the French word using the traces and imprint of dead languages. The identification of these compound units is essentially based on their etymology. They are morphologically simple but semantically complex units. Their interpretation depends on a particular syntax
