El presente artículo tiene como objetivo estudiar la importancia del turismo sostenible y las diferentes estrategias que pueden favorecer el destino turístico. Para ello se aplicó un diseño metodológico exploratorio-descriptivo y transeccional con un enfoque mixto, esta parte se realizó mediante una revisión de la literatura en sitios confiables, artículos científicos y sitios verificados, posteriormente se realizó un análisis de reporte de México Sostenible Estrategias de Turismo 2030 de organizaciones de la sociedad civil, gobierno, organizaciones internacionales, empresas, pueblos indígenas y comunidades locales, academia, inversionistas y viajeros. Así como el reporte de estrategia México nace Sostenible de la Secretaría de Turismo. Los hallazgos de esta investigación brindan estrategias para el turismo sostenible que atiendan las necesidades de los turistas, al mismo tiempo proteger y fomentar oportunidades para el futuro que satisfagan las necesidades económicas, sociales y estéticas, respetando la integridad cultural, y ecológica de los destinos turísticos
