On the very idea of a hermeneutic phenomenology of science

This paper investigates the possibility for a hermeneutic phenomenology of science by criticizing Heidegger’s existential conception of science and Gadamer’s expulsion of the natural sciences from the hermeneutic universe. At stake is the specificity of science’s theoretical objects qua objects, whose reading and integration in spaces of representation launches the articulation (in the sense of hermeneutic phenomenology) of domains of scientific research. The paper addresses the post-metaphysical role of those hermeneutic programs which look at scientific research in terms of situated transcendence. L’articolo esamina la possibilita di una fenomenologia ermeneutica della scienza criticando la concezione esistenziale della scienza di Heidegger e l’espulsione delle scienze naturali dall’universo ermeneutico propugnata da Gadamer. In gioco e la specificita di oggetti teorici della scienza in quanto oggetti, la cui lettura e integrazione in spazi di rappresentazione interviene sull’articolazione (nel senso della fenomenologia ermeneutica) degli ambiti peculiari della ricerca scientifica. L’articolo tratta in particolare il ruolo post- metafisico di quei programmi ermeneutici che guardano alla ricerca scientifica in termini di trascendenza situata
