Ethno‐fiction film is an experimental ethnographic film approach where the fieldwork informants are asked to act out their experiences through projective improvisations in front of the camera. It was pioneered by visual anthropologist Jean Rouch during his ethnographic fieldwork research in West Africa during the mid‐1950s
