This entry examines the discursive work and conditions that are necessary for language change to be recognized. Using data from interviews and online newspapers, it models one way of examining language change. It does this using a framework that sees all social life as discursively evaluated and constructed. In doing so, it points to the infrastructures required to enable language change to become widely recognized, while highlighting some of the consequences of such discourses of change
