Anthropologists characterize the relationships between religion and health as inherently social. They ask how, in everyday settings, tangible and intangible forms of religious or spiritual assets shape people's views of the world and ways of acting during their lifelong journeys of health. They examine how healthworlds are constructed and how the actions of religious people, groups, organizations, and traditions function as assets to shape wellbeing. A new body of work also examines the impact of spirituality on wellbeing and considers the “leading causes of life,” which express ways in which people search for full health in everyday life
