Drawing on feminist science studies and in line with the theme of this issue, we analyze the promotion of assisted reproductive technologies aimed at treating male infertility based on communications between specialists—geneticists, fertility specialists, gynecologists, embryologists, endocrinologists, and urologists—and users on digital platforms freely accessible to the public. We investigate which representations of bodies and nature are conveyed in these communications about technologies for male infertility, tracing the construction of contrasts and differences through explanations regarding the causes of infertility, diagnosis, and improvements in semen quality. We observed that male infertility is often framed as a result of the incorporation of unhealthy habits and harmful external substances into the male reproductive body, linking it to the notion of lifestyle—in contrast to descriptions of female infertility associated with a condition inherent to the unstable and problematic nature of the female reproductive body.
