The objective was to characterize and analyze the water supply system for human consumption in the São Francisco Community, located in the Lago Grande Agro-Extractive Settlement Project (PAE Lago Grande), in Santarém, Pará. The research adopted a qualitative–quantitative approach of a descriptive and exploratory nature, using questionnaires administered to 15 families, corresponding to approximately 55% of the local population. The results indicated that 93% of residents are served by a groundwater micro-supply system, while about 7% use surface water from the river. It was found that 60% of respondents consume water directly from the distribution network, and 40% use polyethylene storage tanks. Regarding water treatment, 53% of residents consume water without any treatment, while the others adopt alternative practices such as filtration using a clay filter, boiling, straining, or the use of hypochlorite. It is concluded that, although the existence of the micro-system ensures access to water, sanitary weaknesses persist that compromise the quality of the water consumed, highlighting the need for structural improvements, the implementation of adequate treatment, and the strengthening of sanitary education actions within the community. Keywords: PAE Lago Grande.
