Introduction. A reference is given on the state of Russia's mineral resource base, detailing the problem of disposing of substandard metal-containing raw materials and the effectiveness of traditional and new options for extracting metals from tailings into a production solution. The purpose of the study. Detailing the prospects of technologies for leaching metals from substandard raw materials. Research methods and materials. Generalization and analysis of the results of previously performed research, publications and best practices, experiment, modeling and scientific forecasting. The complex of studies forms recommendations for the implementation of research results, including the dependence of metal extraction parameters on variable factors with logarithmic or polynomial interpolation. Research results. The parameters of technologies for processing substandard metal-containing raw materials, including refining tailings and substandard metal ores, are presented with a comparison of technologies for transferring metals to a production solution. Detailed information is provided on the combination of technologies with the laying of exhausted space by recyclable enrichment tailings and the use of tailings from underground block leaching at the ore deposit site. Discussion of research results. It is shown that, compared with the option of activation in the disintegrator and leaching outside it, leaching in the disintegrator provides equal extraction, but reduces the duration of the process by 2 orders of magnitude. It is proposed to evaluate the efficiency of utilization of metal ore processing tailings by the criterion of completeness of metal extraction from the tailings of processing into a leaching production solution. Conclusions. Technologies for the transfer of metals into production solution, especially in high-speed disintegrator mills with combined mechanochemical activation of the process, have advantages over traditional methods with pulp mixing in agitators, etc. The results of the study may be in demand when modernizing technologies for the utilization of accumulated man-made resources. Suggestions on practical application and direction of research. The results of the study may be in demand in the modernization of technologies for the development of exposed ores, mainly non-ferrous ores.
