Small businesses constitute a significant component of economic growth and employment generation in developing countries and are considered an important means of increasing income. The purpose of this study is to identify the major financial problems faced by small businesses in Gardez City and to evaluate and analyze effective solutions to these challenges. The study employed a quantitative research approach using a descriptive and analytical research design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 360 owners of small businesses operating in Gardez City. All collected responses were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistical techniques, including frequency and percentage analysis, were utilized, while the collected data were further analyzed and interpreted using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings indicate that inadequate capital, rising operational costs, cash flow shortages, limited access to credit, high interest rates, inflation, and weak financial management are among the most significant financial challenges confronting small businesses. These challenges have a direct negative impact on business performance, growth, and sustainability. The study concludes that improving access to financial resources, facilitating stronger connections between entrepreneurs and formal financial institutions, enhancing banking accessibility, and developing the managerial and financial skills of business owners can significantly contribute to the sustainability, growth, and long-term success of small businesses in Gardez City.
