Une statuette de bronze provenant du Levant et conservée au musée du Louvre a été considérée jadis comme figurant un guerrier parthe. Elle doit plutôt être interprétée comme une représentation, à l’époque impériale romaine, du dieu syrien Jupiter Dolichénien. C’est un fragment probablement ancien d’ex‐voto ( i er s. apr. J.‐C.). À l’origine, le dieu, qui brandissait une hache bipenne dans la main droite, était juché sur le dos d’un taureau.
