This issue's special feature carries the theme “Tertiary Japanese Language Studies”, The articles deal, in the main, with some of the pressing problems that no doubt all language teachers have experienced to a greater or lesser degree. Since solutions normally derive from a carefully reasoned assessment of initial problems, it is our hope that interested members will give further thought to some of the problems raised, to those suggestions for solving them that have been made, and also to the problems they have experienced that have not been addressed in this issue. This is with a view to further discussion in forums the JSAA hopes to make available from time to time in the future.
