This editorial launches “Teaching Notes,” a new special section of the Journal of Sociology that aims to create a dialogue among sociology teachers, and share experiences and reflections on our practice. In this section, we publish both empirical research and reflective essays grounded in relevant literature that consider the issues most pressing in our classrooms now. The editorial also introduces Associate Editors, Dr. Garrity Hill and Dr. Nick Pendergrast, who teach sociology at the University of Melbourne, Australia. It outlines the purpose and remit of the section as a guide for future contributions.
