The epilogue provides readers with more information about the author’s own family history, which came to light as he was finishing the book. The author argues that Britain’s “drift” towards the multicultural is only going to become more pronounced in the years to come, and that hybridized identities will continue to become an increasingly commonplace feature of British life. He suggests that the ongoing story of multicultural Britain will remain an often contradictory process, however, with racism in myriad forms a central issue.
