The concluding chapter provides a detailed summary of the research results and reflects them against the background of the research question and the principles of Social Anthropology. It argues that the study of local arenas and ‘background’ themes of kinship, family, and tribe are linked to the hard surfaces of national and regional politics, and that the micro-and meso-sociological study of an anthropologist makes a substantial, if not fundamental, contribution to the understanding of larger conflicts with regional impact in Yemen and beyond.
