The article proposes a critical investigation of Max Scheler's epistemology of love. It opens with an investigation of his analysis of the constitutive role of emotions in the disclosure of reality and, moving from his epistemology of nature to his theory of intersubjectivity, it continues the analysis with an investigation of the role emotional identification (Einsfiihlung), sympathy (Einfuhlung) and love (Liebe) play in Scheler's theory of the constitution of the social world as a communal and, ultimately, spiritual world
