L'A. presente un article de Niklas Luhmann, extrait d'un ouvrage publie en 1988 : «Die Wirtschaft der Gesellschaft» et traduit sous le titre «Limits of steering». Il montre que Luhmann met en lumiere les limites de la direction et du controle des systemes sociaux actuels marques par des processus auto-poietiques, c'est-a-dire d'auto-construction. Il examine de quelle maniere Michael King et Anton Schutz envisagent la theorie de l'organisation sociale elaboree par Luhmann. Ces derniers voient dans cette theorie un changement de perspective radical concernant la politique et la bureaucratie
