Licensing is a contractual arrangement whereby the licensor (selling firm) allows some elements to be used for a fee by the licensee (buying firm). Licensing can involve product technology, patents, trademarks, product designs, manufacturing/distribution process, know‐how, intellectual property, or anything that is deemed appropriate to generate positional advantages in the market.
