An interdisciplinary bioregional ecosystematic approach to sustaining the ecological integrity of a mountain region is described. This approach assumes that ecosystem comprises a symbiotic web of relationships among species and their activities within the spatial territory of Sumlaut ̃umava, Czech Republic. This construct is applied to the management of tourism in the region, especially as it influences the natural environment and human culture. Four key stakeholders are identified: the National Park Administration; municipalities; entrepreneurs in agriculture; and entrepreneurs in the leisure/amenities sector. The findings illustrate how the future development of tourism should take into account the needs of all of these various stakeholder groups.
