The Alexamenos graffito is a third‐century roughly‐etched caricature of a man named Alexamenos worshipping an ass‐headed man who is being crucified. The inscription reads “Alexamenos worships [his] god.” The crucified figure is most likely a depiction of Jesus, with an ass‐head to illustrate the foolishness of the Christian religion for worshipping a crucified man.
