The Iceni were a prosperous British tribe, occupying Norfolk and parts of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in eastern Britain. The Iceni became allies of the Romans, but on two occasions they revolted. Boudica led the second rebellion. After it was suppressed, the tribe developed as a local, self‐governing community ( civitas ) within the Roman province of Britain.
