Ipsos was the site in central Phrygia (modern Çayirbagi in Turkey) of a critical battle between the surviving Successors of Alexander the Great, in the summer of 301 BCE . Once known as the “Battle of the Kings,” this confrontation proved a watershed in the evolution of the Hellenistic kingdoms.
