Stesimbrotos of Thasos was a fifth‐century rhapsode and literary figure. In addition to works on mystery cults and Homeric problems, he is attested to have written a treatise on contemporary fifth‐century Athenian politicians. Although the nature and political stance of his treatise remain elusive, it was highly influential upon the later literary and historiographical tradition.
