A prominent politician and a general of the Achaian League, Kritolaos determined Achaian policy, including the league's relations with Rome, whose interference in Greek affairs had become much more pronounced in the mid‐second century BCE : it culminated in an open assault on the Achaian League and in the destruction of Corinth in 146 BCE .
