Najrân refers to an oasis settlement and pre‐Islamic tribe of southwest Arabia (Saudi Arabia). This oasis was a major place along the caravan roads linking Yemen to the Gulf and the Mediterranean. As the first Christianized settlement in south Arabia, the city of Najrân witnessed persecutions by the Himyarite kings which in return encouraged an Aksumite offensive and the subjection of the major part of the Arabian Peninsula.
