The Prostitution Prevention Law in Japan prohibits direct sexual intercourse for money, so other forms of sexual services have developed. Also, in Japan the border is blurring between professional women and amateurs. Housewives and students can easily get involved in the sex industry as a form of part-time job. It is true that a lot of men in Japan like a sex worker with a "non-professional" image. Many customers need mental liberation just as much as they need physical liberation through an ejaculation. With a sex worker, they talk about things which nobody in the family or workplace will listen to. Sex work should be regarded as an established form of labor like any other. But there was no group or network for sex workers to empower themselves and to help themselves work safely. The members of the group include sex workers, dancers, nude models, a lesbian counselor, an acupuncturist, lesbian activists and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) activists.
