This chapter presents a conversation between the authors about how one practicing anthropologist encountered and resolved a situation in her professional experience, and their shared analysis of that experience. It presents a brief case study from the authors′ professional experience, and then a conversation between them about how to apply what they think is a simple and useful ethical problem-solving guide, the RICE Guide. The RICE Guide was applied to facilitate value clarification so critical to resolving potential or actual ethical dilemmas. The chapter concludes with a discussion with some thoughts about the particular ethical challenges and considerations of contracting and consulting work.
