Charon of Lampsakos was an important early Greek historian of the late sixth or early fifth century bce . His numerous works covered a wide range of topics. Perhaps most importantly, he is frequently cited as the earliest historian of the Greco‐Persian Wars and commonly put in comparison with Herodotus of Halicarnassus.
