The Somali peoples of Somalia share a common language and a common culture although the Sab tend to be engaged in sedentary agriculture and the Samaale in nomadic herding. The Samaale and Sab are large-scale clans within the broader Somali identity group. In addition to the Somali there are about 100,000 Bantu speaking Africans who have come to be culturally similar to the Somali, about 42,000 Arabs and Asians, and 6,000 Europeans were counted in the late 1960’s.
