Resumo

Occupational prestige and yearly income are used to aggregate Australian industries into economic sectors. The first sector consists of social services and agriculture, while the second sector consists of material production and distributive services. This reflects post-industrial features as well as the specific position of agriculture in the Australian economy. The sectors differ not only in absolute and relative (to the quality of their workforce) work rewards but also in the detailed patterns of the rewards' determinants.
