De nombreuses classifications des populations a partir des differences physiques existent, taxinomies et sous-especes se multipliant en anthropologie physique. Les termes de race et d'ethnicite sont alors interchangeables en fonction d'interets politiques. La notion de race apparait egalement en epidemiologie, en medecine et dans en sante publique. La relation entre culture et biologie se presente egalement en psychiatrie et debouche sur la notion de racisme
