This article investigates the experiences of LGBTI+ parenthood and how hegemonic gender norms shape the notions of caregiving in society, resulting in the erasure of these family configurations from Brazilian public policies, particularly in healthcare services. Through a qualitative exploratory approach, seven online focus groups (OFG) were conducted with 35 LGBTI+ individuals and 14 healthcare professionals between November 2023 and February 2024. The thematic analysis revealed two main dimensions: "Care as a feminine function and its consequences" and "Barriers and erasure of LGBTI+ parenthood: the experience of non-recognition." The theoretical framework is grounded in gender and feminist studies, with an emphasis on social justice, economic redistribution, and cultural recognition of marginalized identities. The results highlight the invisibility of LGBTI+ parenthood, reflected in the common experience of social non-recognition, leading to inequalities in access to rights, such as parental leave and equitable healthcare services, impacting not only parents but also children and adolescents.
