The article aims to address the reception of the pedagogical rationalism of the Modern School, founded by Francisco Ferrer y Guardia, in the regions of the Río de la Plata and the Rio-São Paulo axis. Reception is understood as a process of appropriation promoted by various historical agents who act as mediators between the context of production of ideas and the context of appropriation. To examine this process, we analyze the publication of articles in newspapers and pamphlets that circulated on Ferrer y Guardia's pedagogical rationalism in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo between 1901 and 1915. We consider that, in this way, light is shed on the transnational militant network that structured anarchism in both regions and the heterogeneity of the appropriations of Ferrer's ideas. Finally, emphasis is placed on the articulation of intellectual debates with the pedagogical practices carried out by anarchists.
