In Cyprus, the unresolved issue of missing persons—particularly in relation to women—presents a complex narrative shaped by gender, memory and reconciliation. This article examines how the discovery of missing soldiers' remains disrupts nationalist narratives, challenging portrayals of mothers as passive victims in a deeply divided society. It considers cross‐community initiatives, including the investigative and humanitarian reporting of journalist Sevgül Uludağ, alongside networks such as the Cyprus Women's Bi‐Communal Coalition (CWBC).
