This article argues that labor migration is often more than just about labor. Drawing on ethnographic research among Mexican migrants in Atlanta, Georgia, the author demonstrates how migration can also be a strategy for achieving educational goals, both for the migrants themselves and for their children. The article highlights the importance of considering the multiple motivations and aspirations of migrants, and it challenges the simplistic view that migration is solely driven by economic factors. Migrants often seek to improve their social standing and access to education, and they view migration as a means of investing in their children's future. The article concludes by suggesting that a more nuanced understanding of migration is essential for developing effective policies and programs
