Resumo
This article explores the complex interplay of seduction, transference, and resistance in ethnographic fieldwork, focusing on dialogues about terror and violence in Argentina. Robben analyzes how these dynamics shape the research process, influencing the kinds of stories people tell and the relationships that develop between researcher and researched. Drawing on his own fieldwork experiences, he examines how the emotional intensity of the subject matter can create both opportunities and challenges for understanding the lived experiences of individuals affected by political violence. The article highlights the importance of reflexivity and ethical awareness in navigating the complexities of fieldwork in contexts marked by trauma and suffering.
