In recent years anthropologists have intensified their efforts in the study of complex modern communities and societies. One main interest has frequently been the study of community growth accompanied by industrialization, urbanization, and the emergence of mass society. Interesting methodological considerations are currently being given to the study of those complex societies,1 and the results so far are particularly interesting to students concerned with reevaluating the concept of culture
