This paper summarizes a study incorporating measures of location preference in the urban planning process. The need and potential techniques for quantification of such preferences are discussed. Two major analytical schemes are tested in the research: namely, iso-disutility curves and joint probability of acceptance contours. Graphic results and analytical interpretations of the study conclusions are offered in conjunction with comments on the relevance of continuing research into preference methodology applied to urban problems
