Examen critique de l'augmentation des taux de suicide dans les Samoa occidentales, notee pour la premiere fois par le Fiji Medical Journal en 1974. Il apparait que le taux des suicides anomiques chez les adolescents a bien augmente par rapport aux taux de suicide altruiste plus commun dans le passe. Le phenomene est a mettre en rapport avec les changements culturels et sociaux recents
