L'A. examine les difficultes rencontrees par les parents norvegiens en ce qui concerne la transmission des valeurs a leurs enfants. Il presente un certain nombre de donnees collectees entre 1988 et 1989. Il met en evidence des conflits de valeurs entre les generations et estime qu'ils temoignent du passage de la «modernite classique» a la «modernite transformee». Il montre un lien etroit entre les modeles educatifs familiaux qu'il isole et les formes d'organisation du travail dans les entreprises. L'obeissance semble laisser la place a la negociation et au libre developpement de la personnalite. Il considere que les individus sont eduques de maniere a etre flexibles et creatifs conformement a l'evolution de l'emploi
