Resumo
In this brief but impactful piece, Denise Ferreira da Silva introduces the concept of "Globality" as a racial formation. She argues that Globality, often presented as a neutral and inclusive process, is fundamentally structured by a racial logic inherited from the Enlightenment. This logic positions Europe and its descendants as the universal subject of reason and progress, while relegating non-European peoples to the status of the particular, the traditional, and the underdeveloped. Silva emphasizes how this racialized understanding of Globality shapes economic, political, and social relations, perpetuating inequalities and injustices. She calls for a critical engagement with the very foundations of Globality to expose its inherent racial biases and work towards a more just and equitable world order.
