This article explores the playful dimension of learning within the context of a Caboclo Candomblé terreiro in Belgium, focusing on the role of erês, child spirits who are central figures in these rituals. It examines the dynamic interplay between play and learning as experienced by both the erês and the participants in the rituals. The author argues that this playful engagement facilitates the transmission of knowledge, values, and practices within the religious community, highlighting the importance of embodied experience and emotional connection in the learning process. The study draws on ethnographic observations and interviews, offering insights into the unique cultural and spiritual expressions of this Afro-Brazilian religion in a European setting
