This article examines the social position and aspirations of rural youth in Poland, focusing on the impact of their career choices and the role of the Socialist Rural Youth Union. The exodus of young people from rural areas contributes to an aging population. Those who remain in agriculture often face lower social status and frustrated aspirations due to the influence of older farmers and the underdevelopment of rural areas. The study highlights both positive and negative consequences of these unmet aspirations, emphasizing the constructive role of the youth organization in shaping and realizing the goals of rural youth
