Since Halbwachs's work, it is well known that memory is a reconstruction of the past based on present concerns. This article aims to demonstrate this selective process by comparing family memories of women and men in relation to an essential aspect of their current lives: their relationship to time. Even when professionally active, women still live primarily according to family time, reflected in the nature of their memory, centered on the family "entre-soi". Conversely, men continue to live primarily according to the time of their professional activity, organizing their family memories according to various temporal dimensions characteristic of their socio-professional condition
