Resumo

This chapter examines the complex dynamics of cultural appropriation, focusing on the adoption of Native American imagery and spiritual practices by non-Native individuals and groups. Nason argues that such appropriation often perpetuates harmful stereotypes, commodifies sacred traditions, and reinforces existing power imbalances. He explores the historical context of this phenomenon, highlighting how colonialism and ongoing systemic inequalities contribute to the misrepresentation and exploitation of indigenous cultures. The chapter also analyzes the ethical implications of cultural appropriation and advocates for greater respect and understanding of cultural boundaries.
