Les activites missionnaires chez les Indiens Shuswap du centre de la Colombie britannique ont mene a la conversion catholique et a une reorganisation de la vie de village suivant une administration hierarchique imposee par l'Eglise. En fonction des contextes sociaux et economiques, la rencontre interculturelle evolua entre l'acceptation et le rejet avant de parvenir a la conversion et a la revitalisation
